非常感谢您在中国新年到来之际向开普敦和西开普省华人致以春节问候，在我记忆中这是首次，相信本地区所有华人都对您的问候与良好祝愿感到鼓舞和高兴。
华人很早以前就来到南非，来到开普敦。在20多年前，华人社区得到长足发展。他们辛勤劳动，艰苦创业，在克服众多挑战的同时，也深深感受到“彩虹之国”的美丽，将这里当作他们的第二故乡。他们不仅为经济发展作出贡献，越来越多的华人积极参加社区建设，帮助需要帮助的人，为“彩虹”增加更绚丽的色彩。
新的一年，华人社区将继续努力，与开普敦、西开普省和南非共同前进，为更美好的未来作出贡献。

Dear Premier Helen Zille
We thank you for your Chinese New Year's message to the Chinese
Community in Cape Town and in the Western Cape. I believe that this is
the first of its kind for the Chinese Community in the Western Cape to
receive the Premier's wishes. Our community is impressed, inspired and
encouraged by your message and your good wishes.
Chinese people arrived in South Africa and the Western Cape a long time
ago. The Chinese community developed rapidly in the last 2 decades. They
are deeply impressed by the beautiful "rainbow nation" of the people
and the land, where they consider it their second home. They are
continually contributing to the local economic development and becoming
increasingly involved in community-building to help the people who need
in deed.
The Chinese Community will continuously work hard together with Cape
Town, Western Cape and South Africa to build a better future for all in
the new year and the years to come.
Once again, we thank you for your good wishes, and we wish you the very
best.
